Making fashion sustainable,
one sweater at a time.
What if fashion wasn't something we owned, but something we shared?
KNIT+ is a research microfactory of the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences (HvA), run by the Fashion Research & Technology group at AMFI. Each piece is knit on the Shima Seiki 3D knitting robot at the 3DKnit Robot Lab — made locally in Amsterdam, worn collectively.
At the center of KNIT+ is a Living Lab, where advanced manufacturing meets experimental design. Staying true to its local roots, KNIT+ garments are not only made in Amsterdam but rented from Amsterdam — bringing sustainable fashion back to the city.
