Making fashion sustainable,
one sweater at a time.
What if fashion wasn't something we owned
but something we shared?
KNIT+ is an initiative by the Fashion Research & Technology group at the University of Applied Sciences Amsterdam. Developed by computational designers, the garments created through Knit+ explore shared ownership as a model for sustainable fashion.

At the center of Knit+ is a Living Lab, where advanced manufacturing meets experimental design. The Shima Seiki WholeGarment system produces garments in a single, seamless process, significantly reducing the need for cutting, stitching, and other post-production steps.
Staying true to its local roots, Knit+ garments are not only made in Amsterdam but will also be rented within the city. This keeps both production and use within the same urban ecosystem, lowering transportation impact and reinforcing a more sustainable, community-based approach to fashion.
